Quality Spanish shoes – Hecho en Espana
I am inclined to go on a bit when the subject of shoes comes up. I love shoes but
more importantly I love comfortable shoes, yes I’m at that age where
comfort is pretty high on my list of priorities!
The most comfortable shoes I have ever bought have been quality Spanish shoes.
Unlike the UK, when shopping in Spain for shoes, you can almost guarantee
they will be made in Spain. Just turn any footwear over
or peer inside to find ‘Hecho en Espana’ and this will usually guarantee
comfort and quality, every pair of shoes I have bought in Spain
have been so comfortable and have lasted to this day.
On a recent trip to Tenerife we visited a shopping centre (Carrefour) which
is located away from the tourist resorts and one of my favourite shoe shops
‘Pecas’. Pecas has fantastic choice of shoes and boots, all made in Spain,
and on our visit I was completely spoilt for choice, I loved so many of the
styles they had and I knew the quality and comfort would be second to none.
I purchased 3 pairs, well I don’t buy shoes in the UK (tell you why later)
and I was treating myself to some nice Spanish, comfortable shoes!
Have a look, what do you think?
These shoes are definitely high quality and all are leather but the price may
surprise you. When my visa bill came the total amount for the 3 pairs
(2 x boots and 1 x shoes) was £126 which is an average of around £42
each. I think this is amazing value for the quality of shoe/boot you
Unfortunately, ‘Pecas’ only have shoe shops in Tenerife so next time you
go on holiday, please look them up and pay them a visit, you won’t be
OK, the reason I don’t buy footwear in the U.K is simple, I don’t
want footwear made in China. Everything we sell in this country
seems to be made in China and I want to support our
European neighbours or buy British wherever possible.
I think I have picked up every pair of shoes and boots in Clarks
here in Derby and every pair are made in China or Vietnam,
I agree the quality is there but the prices are high.
Why can’t we import from Spain, Italy and Portugal?
If I can pay an average of £42 for quality leather footwear
in Tenerife then surely we can import into the UK
and offer similar prices to those found in Clarks that
have been imported from China.
I have searched the web for Spanish footwear available to
buy in the UK and after seeing the Hispanitas brand in
Tenerife I have found some stockists here in the U.K.
You will see they have some great reviews and you can be
sure of the comfort of these shoes which gives peace
of mind when ordering online.
Here are a few of the styles from the Hispanita range and you can buy
